Can You See AI Headshots Before You Pay? What Each Tool Actually Does
Some tools show results before payment, some refund after, some do neither. Here is where the money changes hands, and what happens if results are wrong.
You are being asked to upload photographs of your face and pay for images that do not exist yet, on the promise that they will look like you. It is a reasonable thing to hesitate over, and the industry mostly does not address it.
There are three different things vendors mean when they say you are protected, and they are not equivalent.
The three models
See it first. You upload, the model trains, the results are generated, and you look at them before any money moves. If you do not like them, you have lost time and nothing else. Three of the ten publish nothing at all about what happens when it goes wrong, and a fourth publishes that you will not get your money back. Two more tie the refund to not having used what you bought: Aragon to not downloading the photos, Photo AI to not training a model. That is how the category answers its most common objection.
The three questions worth asking before you upload
Ask these of any tool, including this one.
At what point does the money move? Before generation, or after you have seen the output. If the answer is not on the pricing page, assume before.
What counts as "it did not work"? A refund promise that hinges on the vendor agreeing the images do not look like you is a promise with an adjudicator, and the adjudicator is the vendor. A promise that hinges on you not clicking buy is not.
What happens to my photographs? Separate from the money, and the thing most people forget to ask. Look for how long the tool keeps your photos and whether it trains on them, stated on the page you buy from. Several tools say it plainly. Aragon AI, ProPhotos and Try It On AI do not: they leave it to a privacy policy you have to go and find.
