Best AI Headshot Generators in 2026: 10 Tools Scored on What They Publish
10 AI headshot generators scored on price per image, speed, refund cover, output and whether the figures can be checked. The full table and the rubric.
Every roundup in this category has the same problem. The tools are ranked, but nobody says what the ranking measures, and the site doing the ranking usually sells one of the tools.
We sell one of them. So here is the rubric first, before the results, and every figure in it comes from the vendor's own pricing page or its own structured data. You can open the same pages and recompute the table yourself.
What we scored, and what we did not
Five dimensions, two points each, ten in total.
| Dimension | 2 points | 1 point | 0 points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost per headshot at the entry tier | under $0.50 | $0.50 to $1.50 | over $1.50, or none we could find |
| Speed at the entry tier | 15 minutes or less | 16 to 60 minutes | over an hour, or none we could find |
| What happens if the result is wrong | you see it before you pay, or a refund if you are unhappy | a redo only | none we could find, or no refund once you have used it |
| Output at the entry tier | 50 headshots or more | 30 to 49 | under 30, or none we could find |
| Whether the figures are checkable | the plan or tiers published on its own site | a starting price only | none |
We did not score image quality, and no roundup in this category honestly can. Scoring likeness means buying every tier of every tool, feeding all of them the same input set, and having people who do not know which tool made which image rate the output. Nobody has published that test. What we have done instead is score the things a vendor commits to in writing, because those are the things you can hold them to.
What we could not find is scored as zero. If we could not find a figure on a tool's own site, it scores nothing on that line, and we will rescore any tool that shows us where it is published.

Where two tools tie, the one that gives more headshots per dollar is listed first.
Secta Labs, 9 out of 10
Secta publishes $49 in its own structured data, and its pricing card says that buys 200 or more HD photos across more than 90 styles, delivered in under an hour, with a 30-day money-back guarantee and no questions asked. On volume per dollar, that is the strongest offer in the category.
One caveat. Secta's own site gives three different counts for the same plan: 100 or more in its navigation, 200 or more on the pricing card and 300 or more in its FAQ. We have used the pricing card, because it is the one attached to the price. And volume is not quality: a tool that gives you 200 images you would not use has not done better than one that gives you 50 you would.
Best for: the most images for your money.
Headshots by Magic Studio, 9 out of 10
Ours. Headshots by Magic Studio gives you 50 headshots across 5 looks, ready in 15 minutes, and you see the results before you are asked to pay.
The fastest professional option. Every order is ready in fifteen minutes. HeadshotPro and Aragon reach fifteen minutes only on their top tiers, and the other professional tools here are slower.
Pay after you approve is unique in this set. Secta, HeadshotPro, BetterPic and Aragon will refund you, which means your money leaves and comes back if you ask. With Magic Studio, it does not leave until you are happy.
Each shoot trains its own AI model on 10 of your photos, your photos are never used for any other training, and everything is deleted automatically 30 days after your headshots are created.
Best for: the fastest professional headshots, and not paying until you have seen the work.
The Multiverse AI, 7 out of 10
$29.99, one payment, 100 headshots plus 20 custom edits. It commits to under 30 minutes and says most orders arrive in 10 to 15. At $0.30 a headshot it is a genuinely strong offer on volume. Nothing we could find says what happens if the results are wrong, which is what holds it back. It says your data is stored in the EU and processed in the US, and that your photos are never used to improve its model.
Best for: raw volume at a low one-time price.
Aragon AI, 7 out of 10
$35 for 40 headshots in 45 minutes, $45 for 60 in 30, $75 for 100 in 15, all one time and all in its own Offer schema, plus monthly subscriptions for its wider photo tooling. The entry tier comes with one attire and one background. If you are unhappy it refunds in full, provided you have not downloaded the photos. Aragon is the most customizable tool in the set once you move up a tier.
Best for: control over styles and backgrounds, and an upgrade path into general photo work.
How it compares with us, point by point: Magic Studio vs Aragon AI.
HeadshotPro, 6 out of 10
Its tiers tie speed to price: 30 headshots in about two hours at the entry level, 50 in about 30 minutes with a free redo inside 14 days on the middle tier, and 70 in 4K in about 15 minutes on the top tier. If the results do not look like you, it gives your money back.
It is also a strong team product. Team credits cover 5 to 1,000 people and never expire, which suits companies buying for new hires over time.
Best for: company rollouts on credits, and buyers who want to choose their own speed.
How it compares with us, point by point: Magic Studio vs HeadshotPro.
Dreamwave, 4 out of 10
Dreamwave's pricing page lists three tiers: 40 photos for $35, 60 for $45 and 100 for $99, each from a single selfie. The two higher tiers include free redos, one and two, and the top tier adds human touch-ups. It says a shoot takes about two hours, and it does not offer refunds, because generation starts the moment you upload. Its AI photobooths for events and conferences are a different product and a serious one; this rubric does not measure them.
Best for: event and conference photobooths, and buyers who want a redo included on a higher tier.
How it compares with us, point by point: Magic Studio vs Dreamwave.
ProPhotos, 4 out of 10
40 headshots in 90 minutes at the entry tier, 100 in 45 on the middle tier, and 200 in 30 on the top tier. The top tier is strong on volume, the entry tier is slow, and we found nothing on the pricing page about what happens if the results are wrong. The page title still advertises "Only $25", which is not a price the page lists.
Best for: volume at the top tier, if you can wait at the bottom one.
BetterPic, 4 out of 10
20 headshots in 4K in one style at the entry tier, 60 in three styles on the middle tier, and 120 in six styles on the top tier, taking two hours, an hour and a half and an hour. The entry tier is the most expensive per image in the set, but every tier is 4K, which no one else here offers across the range. Human edits and redos are sold separately, and there is a 7-day refund policy.
Best for: print resolution, and a human fixing one image by hand.
How it compares with us, point by point: Magic Studio vs BetterPic.
Photo AI, 4 out of 10
The only subscription in the set. By its own figures, training a model of yourself takes one to three minutes, and it does far more than headshots. That is the right model if you want an ongoing stream of images and the wrong one if you want a headshot and then to stop paying. It refunds only if you have not yet trained a model, so it offers no protection against a result you do not like.
Best for: people generating images continuously, not people buying one shoot.
Try It On AI, 3 out of 10
The boldest claim in the category: hundreds of headshots from a single selfie, in under two minutes. Every other tool here asks for several photographs, and ours asks for ten. Beyond a starting price, we could not find an image count, a tier table or refund terms on its site, so we could not check any of it.
If the single-selfie claim holds, it is convenient. It is also the claim most likely to cost likeness, since one image gives a model one angle, one lighting condition and one expression to learn from.
Best for: people who genuinely have only one usable photograph.

Who should use an AI headshot generator?
AI headshots have gone mainstream. Professionals in almost every field now use them to make a strong first impression quickly.
Job seekers and career changers
A polished LinkedIn profile or resume photo helps you stand out to recruiters and hiring managers, and an AI headshot gets you one the same day you decide you need it.
Freelancers and entrepreneurs
You are your brand. A professional headshot on your website, social profiles or pitch deck signals credibility to clients and investors before you have spoken to them.
Remote teams and companies
Distributed teams still need to look like one company on the team page. Coordinating in-person shoots across cities is expensive and slow; an AI tool lets every person produce a matching headshot from wherever they are.
Realtors, doctors, consultants and other specialists
Different professions need different signals: approachable for a therapist, authoritative for a consultant, trustworthy for a realtor. Choose a tool whose looks suit your field.
How to get the best results from any AI headshot generator
Even the best generator is only as good as the photos you give it. Here is how to prepare for professional headshots, in short.
Choose the right photos
- Good lighting: natural light or evenly lit rooms, without harsh shadows or strong backlight.
- A variety of angles: straight on and slightly turned, so the AI learns the shape of your face.
- Natural expressions: relaxed and friendly, not exaggerated.
- A clear view of your face: no sunglasses, hats, masks or hair covering your features.
- Sharp images: in focus, not grainy, pixelated or heavily edited.
Follow the tool's guidelines
- Upload solo photos only. Even cropped group photos can confuse the model.
- Skip the filters. Heavy edits and color filters distort skin tone and lighting.
- Avoid extreme angles. Photos from far above, far below or in sharp profile make it harder for the
AI to see your full face.
What would change this table
A quality test. If anyone, including us, buys all ten, runs one input set through them, and gets blind raters to score likeness, that ranking will be worth more than this one. Until then, published specification is what is checkable, and this is it.
If you would rather see what ours produces before spending anything, the free AI headshot generator is the zero-commitment version.
Common questions
What is the best AI headshot generator?
On published specification, Secta Labs and Headshots by Magic Studio both score 9 out of 10. Secta leads on images per dollar. Magic Studio leads on speed, with every order ready in 15 minutes, and is the only tool that lets you see the results before you pay.
Which AI headshot generator is fastest?
Headshots by Magic Studio is the fastest professional option, with every order ready in 15 minutes. HeadshotPro and Aragon reach 15 minutes only on their top tiers. Photo AI trains a model in one to three minutes, but it is a monthly subscription rather than a headshot shoot, and Try It On AI's claim of under two minutes from a single selfie is one we could not verify.
Can you see AI headshots before you pay?
In this set, only Headshots by Magic Studio shows you the results before taking payment. Four others publish a refund you claim after paying, each with its own conditions, and the rest publish nothing or no refund at all.
